Minimum hardware specifications of Chromebook Plus

Google is also incorporating AI-powered functionalities from Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Express into Chromebook Plus devices (we’ll delve into this shortly). It’s likely that Google is establishing specific hardware prerequisites for this fresh category of devices to ensure seamless operation of productivity software and AI-powered capabilities. Below is the comprehensive roster of minimum hardware specifications:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3 12th Gen or above, or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or above
  • RAM: 8GB+
  • Storage: 128GB+
  • Webcam: 1080p+ with Temporal Noise Reduction
  • Display: Full HD IPS or better display

Enhanced software features

Chromebook Plus devices come loaded with a host of video conferencing features for a smoother remote work experience. A dedicated control panel allows for quick toggling of microphone and camera settings. Additionally, users can access AI-powered enhancements like improved lighting, noise cancellation, background blur, and live captions with just a click.

For seamless file access, Google is introducing automatic file synchronization for Google Drive, ensuring that you can access your files even without an internet connection.

Google Photos also receives a significant upgrade, introducing features like Magic Eraser (borrowed from Android), HDR, portrait blur, and an automatic movie creation tool based on selected photos and videos.

Exclusive partnerships for improved creativity

Furthermore, Google has joined forces with industry leaders such as Adobe and LumaTouch to offer software like Photoshop, Adobe Express, and LumaFusion. Notably, Adobe recently revealed the launch of Photoshop on the web, complete with Firefly-powered AI functionalities for premium users. As an added perk, buyers of a new Chromebook Plus will enjoy a complimentary three-month subscription to Photoshop and Express.
