In a recent announcement on Weverse, BTS’s V revealed he’s taking a step back from the TikTok Smoke challenge scene. This decision, surprisingly, can be traced back to the buzz surrounding Mnet’s hit show, Street Woman Fighter 2.

While TikTok dance challenges have been a dominant force in the K-Pop realm for some time now, BTS members only recently hopped on the trend. V, known for his smooth moves, has made memorable appearances in challenges like “Run BTS,” J-Hope’s “On the Street,” and NewJeans’ “Hype Boy.”

Why did BTS’s V call for a time-out on the TikTok Smoke Challenge?

Lately, V has been treating fans to glimpses of his dance sessions with his crew, showcasing his versatility in mastering various choreography styles within the walls of the HYBE dance studio.

A recent upload, however, sent shockwaves through the fanbase. The clip featured V dancing alongside the esteemed choreographer Bada Lee, a current contestant on Street Woman Fighter 2. They were joined by the renowned dancer GOF (also known as Lee Do Geon), and together, they flawlessly executed the “Smoke” dance challenge.

Originating from Bada Lee’s choreography on the Mnet show, the dance swiftly gained traction on social media, spiraling into a trend.

Who are Bada Lee and GOF?

Bada Lee is a seasoned professional dancer currently making waves as a participant in Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter Season 2, which is currently airing. She not only graces the stage with her exceptional dance skills but also leads her team, known as Bebe. What has put her in the spotlight recently is her choreography, which was handpicked for the track “Smoke” during the course of the dance survival show. This dance has since taken the internet by storm, gaining immense popularity.

Lee Do Geon, who also goes by the moniker GOF, is a familiar name in the dance scene. He previously competed in the preceding season, Street Man Fighter, where he was a vital part of the hip-hop dance ensemble Bank II Brothers, securing a respectable 5th place. Notably, V shared a story featuring a dance challenge involving these two exceptional dancers, with the caption “Year of the Pig.” This reference is especially significant as all three of them share the same birth year, 1995, and consequently, their Chinese zodiac signs align.

In a candid moment, V shared a story spotlighting the camaraderie of the ’95-born trio, captioning it with “Year of the golden pig” as a nod to their shared zodiac year. Other comments followed:

  • “V never disappoints with his dance…”
  • “V’s dance moves are mesmerizing. I thought ‘Hype Boy’ was his best, but he nailed ‘Smoke.’”
  • “Even dancing next to professional dancers, he shines through with his attention to detail.”
  • “V’s dance skills are unmatched. His expression is truly unique.”
  • “V’s incredible.”
  • “V’s body control and subtlety when dancing is satisfying to watch. He ate this.”
  • “I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this. V always surprises me.”

The video left ARMYs in awe, witnessing how V effortlessly held his own alongside two seasoned dancers. Social media platforms were ablaze with admiration, catching V’s attention on Weverse. In response to a post praising the performance, he expressed his intention to take a breather from dance challenges. It appears Bada Lee’s dynamic choreography pushed V’s physical limits.

Rest assured, V’s dedication remains unwavering, whether it’s on a dance challenge or on the grand stage!

Meanwhile, if you are an avid BTS fan, you wouldn’t want to miss out on the news of how Jungkook’s TikTok account was revealed by mistake.
