Nintendo
We now know that the House of Mario has a ton of titles in the works thanks to June’s Nintendo Direct. We’re hopeful that a couple of those forthcoming titles will feature at Opening Night Live, but Nintendo will probably have a booth on the show floor. Both Detective Pikachu Returns and further information on the planned Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC may be saved for a later Pokémon Direct. Super Mario RPG or Super Mario Bros. Wonder are two games I’m wanting to see.
Sega
Sega has a ton of titles in development, so we anticipate seeing it at Gamescom 2023 in significant numbers. Hyenas, Sonic Superstars, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and Total War: Pharaoh are the essential games we’re hoping will debut at Opening Night Live.
HoYoverse
Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail’s creator, HoYoverse, will have both games (plus Honkai Impact 3rd) on display on the expo floor. By then, both the 4.0 update for Genshin Impact and the 1.2 update for Honkai: Star Rail will have been made available, but we’re hoping HoYoverse will utilize Opening Night Live to tease what’s coming next for the games.
