In a spectacular convergence of pop culture, Amazon’s hit series The Boys collides head-on with the action-packed universe of Call of Duty, marking an unprecedented crossover event in the gaming world.

We’re deep into the fourth season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with a tantalizing fifth season looming on the horizon, primed for a kickoff early next month.

Call of Duty is no stranger to crossovers, having hosted an array of iconic film and television franchises in the past. Remember when Rambo and Ghostface stepped onto the battlefield in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War? Or more recently, when the sinister Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrived in Modern Warfare 2? The stage is set for The Boys, Call of Duty’s latest guest stars.

What to expect from The Boys x Call of Duty collab?

Eagle-eyed fans first caught wind of the forthcoming partnership during Call of Duty’s Season 4 trailer debut at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest last month. Amid the action, the logo of The Boys subtly emblazoned on a building hinted at the surprise alliance. Now, with Call of Duty’s mid-season refresh unfolding, it’s confirmed that three characters from The Boys will infiltrate the world of Vondel.

As part of the grand reveal of Season 4 Reloaded, a treasure trove of information around The Boys’ crossover with the popular shooter has been unearthed. Brace yourselves for the arrival of Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir – three pivotal characters from The Boys, entering Call of Duty through limited time operator bundles.

But the surprises don’t stop there. Each bundle will also feature three weapon blueprints, exclusive weapon charms, loading screens, emblems, and more, all available for purchase at 2,400 COD Points. Starting July 12, Starlight’s bundle hits the scene, with Homelander and Black Noir set to follow on July 16 and July 20, respectively. The Boys, Call of Duty crossover promises a compelling mashup that is sure to leave a mark on the gaming landscape.

A trio of characters from The Boys are scheduled to join the action on the following dates:

  • Starlight – July 12
  • Homelander – July 16
  • Black Noir – July 20

This landmark crossover event between The Boys and Call of Duty goes beyond mere cosmetics. As part of the incoming surge that is Season 4 Reloaded, a limited-time field upgrade called Temp-V will be introduced, a feature playable in both Warzone and DMZ. This unique power-up, named after the super serum from the show, will confer one of four randomly selected superpowers to the user.

Call of Duty players can look forward to explosive mobility with Charge Jump, which catapults players across the map and delivers damage at the landing site. Fans of Overwatch’s Tracer will appreciate Teleport, which grants players a similar blink ability to dart forward quickly. For offensive firepower, Laser Vision allows players to incinerate adversaries in true Homelander fashion, while Electric Shockwave unleashes an electric pulse that can neutralize vehicles.

The introduction of Temp-V into the Call of Duty universe represents the inaugural addition of a field upgrade as part of a crossover event. As the lines between The Boys and Call of Duty blur with the arrival of Homelander, Starlight, Black Noir, and Temp-V, fans of both franchises can eagerly anticipate the fresh dynamics that Season 4 Reloaded is poised to deliver.
