7 new Pokemon, two of which are Terapagos and Ogerpon are coming to Pokemon: Violet and Scarlet with the new update. Of the new 7 Pokemons that were announced on the Pokemon Day, February 27, two of them are now available whereas the rest will be available together with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC that will come later in 2023.

In this article, we are going to explain the two most excitedly expected new Pokemons in detail. They will be available later this year, but let’s be prepared and take a look at their features.

New Pokemons: Terapagos and Ogerpon

Two of the new characters are going to be available in different times and there are different amounts of information right now about them. Therefore, let’s examine the available data about each of them spesifically.

Ogerpon

One of the new Pokemons in Violet and Scarlet is called Ogerpon. It’s a Legendary Pokemon that will be revealed in The Teal Mask, Part 1 of the DLC for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, which will be released in the fall of 2023. It appears to be accompanied by three other new Pokemons and possesses a “fearsome mask,” but little else is known about it.

We already know that it may most likely be captured in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet’s The Hidden Treasures of Area Zero DLC Part 1 – The Teal Mask. It appears to be influenced by Japanese folklore and yokai, as evidenced by the usage of a festival motif in the trailer up top.

When you meet it, you’ll be traveling through a place called “Kitakami.” It is read in the official Pokemon website, “It is a place of tranquil natural expanses, featuring rice paddies and apple orchards. The trip seems to coincide with a festival regularly held in the village in Kitakami during this season, so the village is bustling with various street vendors and stalls.”

It resembles a Grass-type Pokemon because of the leaves on its toes and its green hue, though this has not been proven.

Terapagos

Another new Pokemon in Violet and Scarlet is Terapagos. It’s a Legendary Pokemon, and it will be unveiled in “The Indigo Disk,” Part 2 of the DLC The Secret Treasure of Area Zero, which will drop in the winter of 2023. Most of the information about it is still largely unknown, however it was mentioned in the base game’s Scarlet Book and Violet Book.

It was mentioned in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Scarlet Book and Violet Book. Page text says:

“A Disk Pokemon?
While separated from the research team in the crater’s depths, I found a strange entity. Whether it was a Pokemon, or even alive at all, I know not. It bore a shell with layers of overlapping hexagons, and gleamed brighter still than gemstone. Viewed as a whole, it resembled a mysterious, brilliant disk.”
It is probably going to be catchable in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet’s The Hidden Treasures of Area Zero DLC Part 2 – The Indigo Disk. You will visit Blueberry Academy as an exchange student during this DLC, thus we anticipate that this section will be brand-new.Terapagos is pronounced similarly to the South American Galapagos Islands, which are a part of Ecuador. Therefore we take “Tera” to refer to the Tera phenomena.
