The so-called “Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend” is an extremely dangerous social media craze that is risking the lives of those who partake in it.

Disneyland parks are a major source of revenue for the entertainment conglomerate, attracting huge crowds of fun-loving and thrill-seeking individuals from around the globe. These theme parks offer an array of exciting rides and attractions, catering to movie-goers and families seeking an unforgettable outing.

While some of these rides are designed to provide a thrilling experience, the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout” ride at Disneyland has recently become the center of a dangerous social media trend known as the “Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend.” Participants in this trend attempt to free themselves from the ride’s restraints, putting themselves and others in serious peril.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout” attraction at Disney California Adventure has recently been thrust into the spotlight as the epicenter of a viral TikTok trend. However, individuals have been cautioned against participating in this trend due to its dangerous nature.

The Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend entails individuals loosening their seat belts while riding the attraction

Formerly known as the “Twilight Zone Tower of Terror,” the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout” ride has been in operation for almost six years and is known for its exhilarating and enjoyable experience. As a drop ride, it attracts many guests seeking an adrenaline rush.

The ride raises riders up to a height of nearly 200 feet and instead of a simple drop, it rapidly pulls the ride vehicle down, causing the fall to be much faster than the force of gravity alone. Thus, the ride is inherently risky and intense even without the added danger posed by the “Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend.”

Unfortunately, in the wake of the “Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend,” riders have once again been endangering themselves by loosening their seat belts while on the ride

This is not the first time that individuals have engaged in dangerous behavior on the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout” ride. In 2010, a guest at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recorded himself riding the Tower of Terror without a seatbelt and uploaded the video to YouTube. The video recently gained renewed attention from former Disney employee Leigh Reinhart, who cautioned against the significant risks involved in attempting such a stunt.

Unfortunately, in the wake of the “Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend,” riders have once again been endangering themselves by loosening their seat belts while on the ride. This is done in a way that increases the “air time” experienced during the elevator car’s descent, posing a serious risk to riders and others on the ride.

“This is an old video, and I was a cast member back when the elevator cars had lap bars instead of seatbelts (except the coveted rear middle seat!), but I’m going to comment anyway. The elevator cars don’t actually freefall, they’re on a giant pulley system and are pulled down and up. You long-time HTH [Hollywood Tower Hotel] fans ever notice that the drop sequence changes periodically? Well, the pulley system is how they do it, so the ride experience can be kept novel for guests who return over months and years,” Reinhart said.

Disney California Adventure has taken measures

According to the Orange County Register, reports of unsafe behavior by guests on the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout” ride have been on the rise. To prevent this dangerous conduct, Disney California Adventure has installed new warnings on the ride.

The “Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend” has inspired riders to disregard safety protocols and make the already risky ride even more perilous. However, the consequences of a guest being injured due to improperly secured seat belts could be catastrophic, potentially resulting in the closure of the entire theme park.

The Disneyland warnings are strict and make it clear that any rider who fails to adhere to the safety guidelines will be asked to leave the premises of the adventure park immediately.

It is essential for guests to follow the safety guidelines put in place by Disneyland and not get carried away

TikTok has given rise to many trends over the years, some of which have been enjoyable, while others have trended regardless of their absurdity. It is, however, undeniable that the Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend is one of the most dangerous trends to emerge from the platform.

Despite Disney’s efforts to prevent guests from endangering themselves on the ride, the upcoming release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may attract even more people to the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout ride. As a result, the dangerous Disneyland Guardians TikTok trend may gain even more popularity in the coming months.

It is essential for guests to follow the safety guidelines put in place by Disneyland and not get carried away, as this could potentially put many lives at risk. It is crucial to prioritize safety over any fleeting moment of social media fame or thrill-seeking.
