The Taiwan-based business MediaTek has been growing its selection of chipsets, and in keeping with that, it has now unveiled the MediaTek Dimensity 7200, a new chip in the Dimensity family.

The company’s recently unveiled mid-range chipset puts a strong emphasis on gaming and photography, two of the most in-demand aspects among consumers.

The N4P process, which is also employed in the Dimensity 9200 series as an upgrade from the Dimensity 9000 series, is used by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to create the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC.

It has six Cortex-A510 cores and two Cortex-A715 cores with a high frequency of 2.8GHz. Moreover, the gadget has a Mali G610 MC4 GPU for handling graphics. Together with Full HD at up to 144Hz with HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR, it supports these technologies.

There is MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0, which offers UFS 3.1 storage for quicker loading and RAM that can run up to 6,400 Mbps. It also supports AI-based Variable Rate Shading (LPDDR5). The optics used by the chipset include a 14-bit HDR ISP with support for 4K HDR video capture, as well as two Full HD video streams and a primary camera with a resolution of up to 200MP.

Moreover, it contains an APU, which enables several AI-powered camera improvements like Real-Time Portrait Beautification. The chipset also supports 2CC Carrier Aggregation, Dual SIM 5G, triband Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 in addition to 5G sub-6GHz with up to 4.7Gbps downlink.

None of the smartphone manufacturers have made any announcements on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200, which will be found in new handsets coming out in the first quarter of this year. An announcement from companies regarding a smartphone powered by this new chipset won’t come for a few more weeks.
