First trailer for the band of misfits of the MCU dropped, giving the fans the first look of the new Guardians of the Galaxy 3 villain, Chukwudi Iwuji’s psychotic and horrifying High Evolutionary.
The primary trilogy of Peter Quill and his motley crew of misfits will be wrapped up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but doing so will need them to battle a psychotic new MCU villain, as seen in the film’s new trailer. While the focus of Vol. 3 has been on the final adventure of this incarnation of the Guardians, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 villain, the High Evolutionary, played by Chuduwuki Iwuji of Peacemaker, has steadily come to the forefront as the film’s major antagonist.
In a recent interview, the Guardians actor characterized his High Evolutionary as “narcissistic,” “sociopathic,” and having a “Shakespearean” touch. James Gunn, who directed Vol. 3, also hinted that Iwuji’s performance in the threequel is “truly explosive,” heightening anticipation for his appearance. Finally, the High Evolutionary has been given a scary new appearance.
First look at Guardians of the Galaxy 3 villain
The debut trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 gave audiences their first official glimpse at Chukwudi Iwuji’s psychotic and horrifying new Guardians of the Galaxy 3 villain, the High Evolutionary. A peek of the High Evolutionary examining his test subjects was shown in the trailer:

The cybernetic skeleton of the High Evolutionary was also shown in detail:

In the trailer, the High Evolutionary was also given a sinister look:

Will the High Evolutionary kill some of the Guardians?
The High Evolutionary didn’t have any spoken lines in the first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser, but the villain’s appearance in the clip more than proved that he would be a tough opponent for the group. Other than Chuduwuki Iwuji’s “explosive” portrayal as the villain and James Gunn’s depiction of the High Evolutionary as “sociopathic,” it is still unclear how and why the creature decides to attack the Guardians.
The bad guy could have seen Rocket’s contribution to stopping Thanos and finally decided to abduct him away from the Guardians. Peter Quill and the crew will subsequently save him from the High Evolutionary’s grasp, setting up a dramatic encounter.
There’s a good likelihood that the High Evolutionary will end up murdering Rocket or maybe some other members of the squad given that Gunn has previously stated that this is the end of the road for this edition of the Guardians. The High Evolutionary’s depiction of becoming a psychopathic villain in the threequel will be realized if he ends up killing some of the Guardians. The release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled for May 5, 2023.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 trailer song
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s first teaser was recently published by Disney, and based on what we’ve seen thus far, it appears like Marvel Studios will have another successful year. The song that you hear in the trailer is really by Spacehog and is called “In The Meantime.” 1994 saw the release of In The Meantime on Spacehog’s self-titled album. You can anticipate hearing it in the movie since Gunn is picky about the music he utilizes for his productions.
Is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 the last one?
The movie is the third and last of James Gunn’s cosmic trilogy, and it will be his final Marvel project before moving on to assist DC Studios. However, this does not mean that the Guardians will be gone from the MCU for good, as there will surely be other projects that feature them.
How is Gamora alive in Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
We’ll do you one better: Why is Gamora? If we put aside the jokes, there is a very simple explanation. When Gamora was sacrificed by Thanos to get the Soul Stone in Avengers: Infinity War, we were left believing that she was gone for good from the MCU. However, during the events of Endgame, a Gamora from a parallel universe came to the main Earth of the MCU, thanks to that universe’s Thanos. So yeah, even though it is not the same Gamora, she is alive and well in the MCU.

While this first look at the new Guardians of the Galaxy 3 villain has hyped us all up for the upcoming movie, there is still sometime to its theatrical release. While waiting, you might also want to check out when is Marvel’s Midnight Suns release date, or Howard Stern might have leaked a Doctor Doom project set in the MCU.
