“The next-generation iPad Pro pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on iPad, bringing even more versatility, power, and portability to the ultimate iPad experience. Powered by the M2 chip, the new iPad Pro features incredible performance and the most advanced technologies, including a next-level Apple Pencil hover experience, ProRes video capture, superfast wireless connectivity, and powerful iPadOS 16 features. There’s nothing else like it,” stated Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The iPad Pro M2 chip, the first in Apple’s new M-series of semiconductors, offers even more ground-breaking performance and capabilities thanks to its industry-leading power efficiency, unified memory architecture, and exclusive technologies.
M2 includes a 10-core GPU that can give up to 35 percent better graphics performance for the most demanding customers, as well as an 8-core CPU that is up to 15 percent quicker than M1 overall. The 16-core Neural Engine can execute 15.8 trillion operations per second when combined with the CPU and GPU, which is 40% more than M1 and makes the iPad Pro M2 even more effective at handling machine learning tasks. Additionally, the M2 chip supports up to 16GB of fast unified memory and offers 100GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, which is 50% more than the M1 did. This increases the efficiency of multitasking and dealing with huge files.
The M2’s speed turbocharges even the most demanding processes, from designers manipulating intricate 3D objects and photographers editing huge photo banks to healthcare professionals using advanced imaging and analysis to gamers playing graphically demanding games. The new media engine and the image signal processor, when combined with the improved cameras, give users the ability to capture ProRes video for the first time and transcode ProRes material up to three times more quickly than before. As a result, field-based content producers may record, edit, and post a cinematic-quality video using just one device.

As a result, professional users, such as photographers and videographers, will be able to edit HDR photographs and films with every real-world detail at their fingertips, and cinematographers on location will be able to preview the footage in a color profile that closely resembles the final capture.
Apple’s sustainability goals
The plating of several printed circuit boards in the new iPad models uses 100 percent recycled gold, a first for the company, along with recycled aluminum, tin, and rare earth elements, all of which help to reduce the environmental effect of the devices. All iPad models are mercury, BFR, PVC, and beryllium free and adhere to Apple’s strict requirements for energy efficiency. Apple is getting closer to achieving its objective of fully eliminating plastic from all packaging by 2025 thanks to the new iPad Pro’s redesigned packaging, which does away with the outside plastic wrap and makes up 99 percent of the package.
Apple already operates carbon-neutrally on a global scale, and by 2030, the company aims to achieve complete carbon neutrality throughout the whole manufacturing supply chain and the entire product life cycle.
