Steam Next Fest October badge and more are here! Hundreds of game demos, developer chats, and live streams are now available on the platform thanks to the most recent Steam Next Fest(opens in new tab) event, which also introduces Next Fest badges.

The Steam Next Fest: October Edition will give a profile badge for speeding through your discovery queue—basically Steam’s customized recommendation center—for those of you that collect Steam badges. To level it all the way up, you can fast roll through it many times.
Steam Next Fest date
Steam Next Fest is an opportunity to play hundreds of demos, watch developer broadcasts, and chat with them about their games. The next Steam Next Fest will start at 20:00 on October 3, 2022 and will last until 20:00 on October 10, 2022 (Kyiv time).
Though there are hundreds of samples of upcoming games available for the duration of the event, it’s worth taking it gently, at least if you have any interest in the games themselves. What number of hundreds? It may be a lot, but it spans every Steam category, from the most fundamental action-adventure and strategy games to VR and controller-based games.
(The October 2021 Next Fest had about 700 demos, so I would anticipate at least as many this time. Prepare to do some digging, then.)

Again acknowledging that there are literally hundreds of demonstrations at this event and that we cannot reasonably discuss them all, here are a few that we have lately noticed:

The broadcast schedule is also jam-packed, with many events scheduled for practically every hour of the day: The action resumes at 5 am ET with a Q&A with the developers of Hello Neighbor 2, a livestream of Mask of the Rose, and something dubbed Hijack Overdrive—all of which are happening at the same time. The first day’s last presentation is a Space Menace livestream that starts at 1 am ET.
