Today, we are going to cover Twitch bans gambling from the platform, which has been a long debated topic about the popular streaming platform.
Twitch imposed a restriction on streaming illegal gambling services, such as slots, roulette, and dice sites, beginning next month. Stake.com, Rollbit.com, Duelbits.com, and Roobet.com are among the sites that will be outlawed. Twitch warned in a Twitter message that other websites may be blacklisted in the future. Sports betting, fantasy sports, and poker websites will remain legal.

Twitch bans gambling from the platform
Some of Twitch’s top broadcasters, including Imane “Pokimane” Anys, Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo, and Devin Nash, have vowed to boycott the site during the Christmas season, according to Kotaku.
While gambling broadcasts are not new to the network, several users have claimed that “rich creators promoted potentially harmful content to young, impressionable fans,” in recent years, according to Kotaku. A number of producers have urged Twitch to take action over online gambling streaming, noting possible risks to younger users. On Twitter, some have used the hashtag #twitchstopgambling to raise awareness of the gaming broadcasts.
Twitch viewers recently voiced upset after a broadcaster known as Sliker admitted to defrauding his followers and other Twitch streams in the computer game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Sliker, whose actual name is Abraham Mohammed, cried in a video posted Saturday after claiming that he conned people out of more than $200,000 to support his gambling addiction.
Nash stated in a lengthy Twitter discussion on Sunday, “Gambling is horrible for the platform. Get rid of it. ” He claims it is “damaging to young Twitch users, bad for legitimate advertisers, and brings down the quality of the whole site.” He also stated that the problem is “a platform problem, not a people problem.”
