LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga online co op explained
According to TT Games, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will have local split-screen multiplayer co-op but no internet multiplayer features. Many fans who wanted to play the latest Lego Star Wars adventure with friends online were surprised by this, but it’s not unexpected given that these elements were missing from the developer’s earlier games, such as Lego DC Super-Villains and Lego Jurassic World.
As previously stated, TT Games has confirmed that there will be no online multiplayer capabilities in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. TT Games has used social media in the run-up to launch to answer to fans who have asked about online multiplayer co-op capabilities with variations on the following response:
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sage has local co-op, not online.

Looking at TT Games’ prior releases, it does not appear likely that this feature will be added at a later date – but you never know. If you want to get the most out of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you’ll still need an internet connection. This is because the DLC character packs for the game require an internet connection to download.
