Age of Empires 4 is free! Age of Empires’ 25th birthday is being commemorated by Relic with free playtime, a sale, and a free “anniversary update” that will be available in October.
Age of Empires was published on October 15, 1997, making it swiftly approaching its 25th birthday. This is difficult to believe. 25 years of age! The silver anniversary is a significant milestone, and to honor it, Relic Entertainment is giving Age of Empires 4 a free week of play.
Simply visit the Steam page and select “play game” to join in on the fun. After downloading and installing it, you can leave for the chariot races. The regular and deluxe editions are both on sale for half-price if you decide to remain with it past the free week’s expiration date of August 28.

Relic has other birthday celebrations as well. A free anniversary upgrade will be released in October and will feature two new civilizations, the Malians and the Ottomans. The Ottoman Empire has an exceptional force and the Great Bombard, the greatest gunpowder siege weapon accessible, while the Malians are an economic powerhouse and one of the richest trading nations in the game.
Along with the new seasonal events, ranked team play, taunts and hacks, and other new features planned for the season 3 update, the update will also contain new maps, achievements, and masteries (opens in new tab).
