In this article, we are going to be covering Star Wars Andor release date, cast, and trailer, so you know everything you need to before it releases.

Star Wars Andor release date

Along with the trailer came two important announcements, the first being that Andor has a new release date. The series will now premiere on September 21 instead of its original premiere date of August 31.

How many episodes are going to be in Andor?

There will be a total of 12 episodes of Andor. Instead of a two-episode premiere as originally announced, the series will premiere its first three episodes in one day. This likely means the remaining nine episodes will span over the next nine weeks, meaning the show’s first season would air its finale sometime in November 2022.

No official reason has been given for the surprise and seemingly last-minute date change, but this isn’t the first time this has happened this year. Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series was originally set to premiere on May 25 but switched to a May 27 premiere date not too long before it aired.

Because there are so many shows preparing to stream this fall, there’s probably no complex, secret explanation for the change. Shows, especially those on Disney+, are probably going to shift around somewhat so that each platform’s top contender of the moment doesn’t get overshadowed by something else — as much as that’s possible these days. It actually wouldn’t be all that surprising if last-minute release date changes became much more common in the age of streaming.

Star Wars Andor trailer

A brand-new trailer for the latest Star Wars live-action Disney+ series, Andor, dropped first thing yesterday. You can watch the trailer for yourself from below.

Who is starring in Andor?

The series, starring Diego Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor, will span the five years leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The Empire is taking things too far, and someone has to do something to stop it. He’ll also be joined by co-star Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma — the well-known “Star Wars” senator who appeared in the 2016 film and was originally played by Caroline Blakiston in the original trilogy — and Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, who will reprise his role as the Rebel extremist from “Rogue One.” Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Fiona Shaw, Robert Emms, Varada Sethu, and others round out the cast.

Is Andor a prequel to Rogue One?

In “Andor,” a precursor to “Rogue One,” which was itself a prequel to “Episode IV: A New Hope,” Diego Luna returns to the “Star Wars” world. The insurrection, however, is only a twinkle in the eye of a young Cassian Andor at this point in the narrative.
