Disney+ Hocus Pocus 2 release date
It’s just been approximately three decades. Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy) Sanderson are nearly back, and the first teaser trailer for “Hocus Pocus 2” has been released, providing a first taste of the evil to come. The sequel will release on Disney+ on September 30, just in time for Halloween.

“Hocus Pocus” debuted in 1993, recounting the narrative of three evil sisters in Salem, Massachusetts, who spent 300 years sleeping until the burning of the Black Flame Candle, which resurrects them on All Hallow’s Eve with a full moon in the sky. They must defeat young Max Dennison (Omri Katz) and her sister Dani (Thora Birch) in order to prevent the witches from becoming eternal before the sun rises. The original was directed by Kenny Ortega, and the sequel will be directed by Anne Fletcher.

Although they perished at the end of the first film, they have resurrected to face two young girls who ignite the torch anew. Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, and “Drag Race” queens Ginger Minj, Kahmora Hall, and Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté feature in the sequel. Hale said that:

Is Hocus Pocus 2 going to be based on the book?
A sequel to Hocus Pocus was reported in 2019, with D’Angelo slated to write the screenplay and Fletcher planned to film in April 2021. Production began in Newport, Rhode Island, in October 2021 and ended in January 2022. Re-shoots were held in Astoria, New York, in early June 2022, after two test screenings revealed a lackluster finale.
