During a boxing event he hosted over the weekend, Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos Garatea amassed more than 3.3 million concurrent viewers, according to Twitch, surpassing TheGrefg’s prior record of nearly 2.5 million.

Another spectacle, called La Velada del Año II, was held in Ibai. It included other content providers battling in the ring as well as musical performances. Live and virtual viewers alike have shown an appetite for live boxing events that are led by content creators, which isn’t a new concept.

However, Ibai’s program, which took place in an arena in front of a packed crowd, demonstrates that they may still be huge attractions for live and virtual audiences.
