The Epic Games Store is dishing out another huge freebie this week in the form of BioShock: The Collection, which as the name suggests is a collection of all three BioShock games set in an alternate history.

BioShock Remastered is the 2016 upgrading of the now 15-year-old underwater philosophy game. If you haven’t played it yet, first of all, what are you doing here? More significantly, here’s your chance to take on legendary videogame foes in an evocative alt-history art deco setting with no additional cost. The music is just as fantastic as the décor too.
In the collection, there is also BioShock 2 Remastered, a cautionary note that no matter how terrible things get, they can always become worse, and BioShock Infinite, which opens with a fantastic concept but quickly devolves into a muddled metaphysical mess about how everything is horrible and the best we can hope for is to escape it getting worse.
Nonetheless, some individuals will undoubtedly object, so our strong suggestion for newcomers to the series is to play them in chronological order. If you’re only going to play one BioShock game, make it the first one; if you want more when it’s finished, go right ahead and enjoy BioShock 2. Infinite is great, but after playing the first two games, we advise moving on and not feeling guilty about it.
