ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz revealed by NVIDIA. At its Computex 2022 keynote, NVIDIA focused on ambitious concepts like artificial intelligence training and data centers for business and cloud gaming. We also spotted several new games certified with RTX and DLSS support. But there was one gaming hardware announcement that stunned us, even though it wasn’t a GPU.
ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz gaming monitor specifications
In his keynote, NVIDIA introduced the ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz gaming monitor, which is the highest refresh rate we’ve ever seen. The majority of high refresh rate displays available today are closer to 170Hz or above. For a gaming monitor, 500Hz is an insane refresh rate, especially one that was announced without much fanfare during a NVIDIA event.
The ASUS Rog Swift 500Hz comes with a 1080p 24″ display from NVIDIA, which is described as having a “new TN panel.” While TN panels are ancient technology, they are also low-latency, which corresponds to the rest of the high refresh rate screen concept. NVIDIA labeled it the “lowest latency, highest refresh rate G-sync esports display ever developed” in its press release.
It lacks some of the features that are important to gamers, like a higher resolution display. Still, for people who are serious about eliminating every last bit of latency out of their gaming experience, this will be a fantastic and most likely expensive solution.
Is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 in the testing phase?
The monitor was compared to NVIDIA’s Reflex Analyzer software, which is being included directly into games like Fortnite and Apex Legends to assist reduce latency. According to NVIDIA, the technology integrates the game and graphics driver to minimize system latency and because that’s what this new Asus 500Hz screen is all about, it’s something we’ve already covered.
We don’t have any pricing information for the ASUS ROG 500Hz gaming monitor yet, but given its unique status and that it’s marketed at professional esports gamers, we’re not expecting a cheap screen.
