The Poco F-series is getting a new generation with the debut of the Poco F4 GT model. It’s restoring its use of a top-tier CPU, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while increasing charging speed.
The LiquidCool 3.0 cooling technology, which is comprised of two vapor chambers for cooling, reins in the powerful processor. This tech was originally implemented in version 1.0 on the Poco F3. The chambers are also 170% larger than those on the F3 GT (170 percent increased area).
The phone has an Adreno 730 GPU (50% faster than the previous gen) and a 6.67” AMOLED display. The Poco F4 GT boasts a 10-bit panel (1 billion colors) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and high frequency PWM dimming. The F5 has a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz, up from 360 Hz on the F3 and comparable to that of the F3 GT.
This one, like previous GT model, is particularly interested in gaming, therefore it offers extra controls in the form of shoulder buttons. They’ve been used in over 100 games, but they can also be used as shortcuts (for example, to start the camera).
With the 120W HyperCharge system, the Poco F4 GT is the fastest charging Poco yet. When in a hurry, the phone’s 4,700 mAh battery can be fully charged in 17 minutes. There’s another setting that allows you to charge your phone while you play – it produces less heat but is still quite fast at 27 minutes 0-100%. Here’s another cool thing: Poco is including an angled USB-C cable, which is more handy when using the phone horizontally.
The F4 GT has two Sony image sensors: one on the back, an IMX686 64 MP 1/1.73″ sensor (0.8 µm native pixels, 1.6 µm with binning) and an f/1.9 aperture, and the other is an 8 MP ultra-wide camera (120°, f/2.2), as well as a pair of 2 MP cameras for portraits and product capture applications respectively. There’s also a flicker sensor built in.
The 20 MP IMX596 inside the punch-holed selfie camera is the second Sony sensor. By the way, the back of the phone has some RGB lighting, which is used for notifications, battery charge indication, and vibrant flair when gaming.
Poco is launching a premium after-sales service for F4 GT owners, which includes one free screen repair during the first six months of ownership.
