What is Elden Ring Radagon?
The final boss of Elden Ring is Radagon of the Golden Order, which is the penultimate tale adversary in the game. To encounter Radagon of the Golden Order, you’ll need to have completed Leyndell, Ash Capital, and beaten Hoarah Loux.
Radagon of the Golden Order is a challenging opponent in the game, but since spirit ash summons are available in this encounter, we’d advise using them.
Prepare for the fight against Elden Ring Radagon
The first thing to check is whether you have any kind of protection against Holy damage. Although the majority of Radagon of the Golden Order’s strikes are physical, they do have a few Holy-based assaults in their arsenal, so it’s important to be protected against them.
If you’re good at timing boss attacks with the parry, you’ll want to use a shield for this encounter because there are multiple chances to parry Radagon.
In terms of health, Elden Ring Radagon is really strong. If you’re going with a melee build for this fight, which we recommend, you’ll want to bring along a good two-handed weapon.
There’s been a lot of discussion online whether Radagon is really weak to bleeding damage, but the majority (and everything we’ve seen) seems to suggest that the boss isn’t weak to bleed attacks.
How to beat Elden Ring Radagon?
The monster boss has a huge hammer with which he enjoys smacking you about. Elden Ring Radagon will generally begin the battle by rushing towards you, swinging a huge hammer at you just as the last second.
This is another one of Radagon’s attacks where you must try to dodge at the last possible moment, rather than getting lured into dodging when the boss immediately starts gearing up for a strike.
With this first attack, Radagon of the Golden Order will chain together additional assaults as the battle progresses. All of them will often feature hefty hammer swipes, and while you can certainly parry these assaults if you’re a skilled dodger, the easier choice is to dodge roll to one side of any attacks and administer a few strikes to Radagon as quickly as possible.
A frequent attack sees the boss rise up into the air with a Holy spear in hand, then lob it right at you. The key here is to dodge roll out of the path of the boss’ hand as it approaches, rather than as the spear leaves Radagon’s grasp, or else you’ll be caught in the explosion.
When Radagon stands upright, he can also use area-based assaults. If his foot glows, it’s time to bring it down, producing a radius-of-effect Holy damage attack to shoot out from him.
When the foot first touches the ground, you’ll need to unleash your area attack immediately; however, there’s a split second delay between that and when the foot fires out its blast, which can easily catch you if you dodged too early.
Elden Ring Radagon also has a variety of attacks. If he rises with his hammer blazing, you must brace yourself for a hit. The boss will land three blows with the hammer, each of which creates a large area effect that grows in power with each impact.
Dodge to the right as soon as the hammer strikes the ground, but don’t get lured into dodging early with the final blow because there’s a brief hesitation before Radagon smashes the earth with his mallet.
He has a devastating stun-lock attack at his disposal. Prepare to sidestep as he’s about to deliver a tremendous grab assault if the hammer glows with Holy damage and the battle approaches you slowly.
If you don’t avoid this, you’ll be hit twice by Radagon’s hammer and have no avenue of escape, even for the toughest Tarnished.
Elden Ring Radagon rewards
Elden Ring Radagon doesn’t offer any rewards. That’s because, while Radagon is down for the count, you’re about to be thrown straight into a fight with the Elden Beast itself.
The final battle against the Elden Beast is the last of Elden Ring, so it’s only natural that FromSoftware would employ some deviousness by putting you up against two bosses in a row.
