With the sequel of the first game approaching ever closer, Blizzard has released a new trailer on Sojourn Overwatch backstory, one of the new characters in the sequel.
Who is Sojourn Overwatch?
Acting commander Vivian Chase, as she was known before being called Sojourn Overwatch, joined the main team after her Canadian special forces unit teamed up with Overwatch during the Omnic Crisis, a worldwide conflict in which artificially intelligent androids rose up against their human masters.
In the trailer she says:
“Jack Morrison [Soldier: 76] and I worked well together, and after the war, he reached out, [I did] whatever was needed. Sometimes I ran point for our agents in the field. Other times, I commanded the operation. No matter what their mission was, mine was to bring every last one of them home.”
The video ends with Sojourn bidding farewell to Overwatch, presumably before the team’s disbandment many years prior to the game. However, she adds that there is another adventure ahead of her “and you never know where that is going to take you.”
