The S20 FE is an inclusion in the Samsung Galaxy series. It was introduced last year and since then, it has continued to give a tough competition to all its counterparts. It is more or less a similar kind of phone and it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Dissimilar to the 4G version, it can be availed in just one 8GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The customers can choose between different colours like Cloud Navy, Cloud Lavender and cloud mint. It has a contending price in comparison to other phones of this price in the market. The Samsung S20 FE from Phonebot is priced at $589 AUD in Australia.
Design
There are no such changes between the 5G and 4G models of Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. The phone looks similar to the 4G version and has a button placed, with power and different volume options towards the right. The main speaker can be found at the bottom, just beside the type C of USB port along with the mic. The earpiece like the speaker is unrevealed in a small slit towards the topmost display end and it also doubles as a second speaker to provide stereo sound which is clear and loud.
The complete design appears minimal and clean with a colour coordinated camera that can be seen barely protruding from the panel of the rear camera. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G also has a metallic frame that is between a layer of display glass on from and a plastic made panel towards the back. The rear panel has a curvature to meet with the frame on four sides and offers a smooth looking matte finish to give you a premium touch. The glass-covered display in this device has been made a bit more flattened than the older versions.
Software and specifications
In comparison to the rest of the phones, you can avail yourself at this price level presently, the processor of Galaxy S20 FE 5G is just a year older. It has a processor of Qualcomm snapdragon 865 that was released in 20q9 and showed up in smartphones in the earlier part of the year 2020. It was the main processor used by almost all manufacturers of smartphones who were searching to release the first series of 5G smartphones in the country.
The pricing is justified by Samsung because this smartphone can offer you features that are not usually offered by other devices in this price range. It has IP 68 rating which makes it water-resistant. You can get more convenience with the 15W wireless charger. Many such features might not be as essential as others but, they contribute to making this a premium smartphone.
Battery life and performance
The snapdragon 865 processor of that smartphone maybe a year older but it doesn’t fail at offering a trusted high-grade performance as far as gaming and other tasks are considered. The phone cab performs much better than other phones in this price range. However, there are a few features that can’t be compared due to the updates in the benchmark.
The users have reported high scores of 6,41,038 whereas, the multi-core and single-core outputs were 3,136 and 560 consecutively. These are usually greater than what was seen in other models but are low than those performance scores which can be seen from other smartphones powered by snapdragon 888 in India at the same price.
Display
It has a 6.5-inch display which is Super AMOLED and shows different oversaturated hues when the vivid screen mode is in use. You can just change it to natural and all colours appear a little dull. It also has an FHD+ resolution that can give you 407 PPI which means that you will get adequate sharpness in everything including videos, images and texts. In the display settings, you can adjust the refresh rate of the screen but you can set it to 60 Hz lowest and 120Hz highest. In the review tune, the display is mostly run at 120Hz.
