Many tech firms have not attended the CES 2022 in-person this year due to the pandemic, but the event is still going on, with thousands of businesses presenting and others using an online-only format to market their new products and services.

CES 2022 Day 1: Electric cars are the stars of the show
Sony Vision-S SUV electric car concept
Sony revealed a new electric concept car, a 7-seater SUV called Vision-S, at CES 2022. Sony will examine whether it can enter the increasingly competitive electric vehicle market through a new operating company, Sony Mobility. As more drivers opt for electric cars, several vehicle manufacturers are entering the market with electric SUVs and trucks.

Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX electric car concept
Mercedes-Benz revealed its new all-electric Vision EQXX concept car, which has a 648-mile range on a single charge at CES 2022. The car will be on the roads for tests this spring, according to the manufacturer. During the event, the firm praised the concept car’s design and battery efficiency.

Chrysler Airflow electric car concept
By 2028, Chrysler will only offer electric cars and the Chrysler Airflow concept is a preview of an electric crossover SUV that will be available by 2025. The Airflow’s design shown at CES 2022 indicates what future Chrysler cars might look like, according to the CEO.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
Jeff Fisher, Nvidia’s SVP has unveiled the brand’s latest high-end GPU, GeForce RTX 3090 Ti at CES 2022. The 3090 Ti’s GA102 GPU has 10,752 CUDA cores compared to the baseline RTX 3090’s 10,496. Fisher also declared that the RTX 3090 Ti will have 40 shader teraflops, 78 RT teraflops, and 320 tensor teraflops. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is set to be the most powerful consumer graphics card when it debuts.

Sony PlayStation VR2 and a new Horizon game
Jim Ryan confirms the name of the next VR headset of Sony at CES 2022, it will be called PlayStation VR2 and a new Horizon game is on its way. The headset has 4K HDR, 90/120Hz frame rates, haptic feedback, eye tracking, foveated rendering, and a 110° field of view and is compatible with the PS5 via a single USB-C connection.

Asus unveils a new gaming tablet and a new laptop
Zephyrus Duo 16 gaming laptop will be powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX processor and the ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet is completely detachable from its keyboard. Asus said at CES 2022 that the ROG ScreenPad Plus offers “extra productivity real estate, streaming gameplay, or even controlling supported games”.

Samsung shows a huge 55-inch curved 4K gaming monitor called Odyssey Ark at CES 2022, most interestingly, you can use it in a vertical orientation. The company didn’t provide any details about the monitor’s panel or price yet.

Hyundai’s plans into metaverse: Boston Dynamics robots
Hyundai will use Boston Dynamics robots in order to connect the metaverse with the physical world. Robots will act as “digital twins” to allow you to experience another location by being your eyes and ears in the metaverse. In the video Hyundai presented during its CES 2022 presentation, the company demonstrated how it sees things working.

Nokia brings 4 new phones: C100, C200, G100 and G400
HMD Global offered 4 new affordable Nokia phones called C100, C200, G100 and G400 at CES 2022. All of these phones will be sold for under $250. The G400 is the most affordable 5G device of the brand to date.

Samsung will now get exposure to Cardano thanks to a new collaboration
Samsung plans to plant two million mangrove trees in Madagascar, an East African island nation. The company is also moving to combat climate change by investing in cutting-edge technologies. Veritree’s reforestation verification data will be recorded on the Cardano blockchain.
The system makes it feasible to trace data from planting sites, connect each donation to the area of land it helped to restore.

Samsung TVs to support GeForce Now and Google Stadia
Samsung’s next-generation TVs will offer Nvidia GeForce Now and Google Stadia. The Samsung Gaming Hub isn’t only compatible with cloud gaming. The firm also claims that your HDMI-connected video game consoles will be included in the platform, complete with pass-through controller connections.
