Disney+ Day 2021 all announcements are here. On the occasion of Disney+ Day, which marks the two-year anniversary of its streaming service, the company streamed a four-hour preview showcasing what will be released on the platform over the next two years.
The long-rumored Agatha Harkness series, an early look at the “Knights of Sidonia” season, and a trailer for the next installment of the “Ice Age” franchise were among the highlights from Friday’s presentation.
In honor of the anniversary, Disney is offering one month of Disney+ for $1.99 to new and eligible returning subscribers, the company announced Monday. Click here to learn more about the deal, which is available through Nov. 14.
Disney+ Day announcements, first looks
The Marvel series “Agatha: House of Harkness,” “Moon Knight”, “She-Hulk,” “Echo,” “Spider-Man: Freshman Year,” “I Am Groot,” “Ironheart,” “Marvel Zombies” and “Secret Invasion” will premiere soon on Disney+. A Marvel series preview is available exclusively on Disney+.

Disney flagship Disney Plus Day announcements
- Cheaper by the Dozen: In March 2022, Fox has announced that the reboot of the hit family comedy Cheaper by the Dozen will premiere on its streaming service.
- Disenchanted: Disney Plus will stream the sequel to the successful film Enchanted, which stars Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, in fall 2022.
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid: On December 3, 2021, the newest animated installment in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise will premiere.
- Rodrick Rules: In 2022, a sequel to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise will premiere.
- Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers: In the spring of 2022, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release a live-action/CG animated hybrid feature film called Castle Rock that stars John Mulaney and Andy Samberg.
- The Beatles: Get Back: The three-night documentary series from director Peter Jackson is set to stream on November 25, 2021.
- Better Nate Than Ever: Better Nate Than Ever is based on Tim Federle’s book and will premiere in the spring of 2022.
- Hocus Pocus 2: The Sanderson Sisters, including Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, reprise their roles in the sequel to the Halloween cult classic, which will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus in the fall of 2022.
- Pinocchio: In his adaptation of the classic tale, which will premiere in fall 2022, Robert Zemeckis mixes live-action and visual effects. Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key, and Lorraine Bracco star.
- The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild: In a sequel to Paul, James, and the Giant Prawn, released on January 28, 2022, Simon Pegg reprises his role as Buck.
- Sneakerella: Cinderella, which is set in the avant-garde sneaker subculture of New York City, will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus on February 18, 2022.
- The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder: In February 2022, a new arrangement of the popular Disney Channel series from the 2000s will premiere.
- High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The third season of the program moves to a summer camp for more fires, relationships, and no-curfew nights.
- The Spiderwick Chronicles: The beloved best-selling novels are to be adapted into a new live-action series.
- Baymax: The next-generation animated superhero series Big Hero Six is getting a sequel, with the premiere set to air exclusively on Disney Plus in 2022.
- Zootopia Plus: A new short-form series set in a mammal metropolis, which will premiere in 2022.
- Tiana: In 2023, the long-form musical drama about the newly-crowned Princess of Maldonia debuts on Disney Plus.
- Intertwined (Entrelazados): The debut Disney Plus original program produced in Latin America is now available to stream.
Pixar Disney Plus Day announcements
- Cars on the Road: Pixar’s Cars is getting a spin-off series, with Mater and Lightning McQueen setting out on a cross-country road trip on Disney Plus in 2022.
- Two new documentaries are being released about the making of Pixar’s Turning Red and Lightyear, which will premiere on Disney Plus in 2022.
- Win or Lose: In 2023, Disney Plus will air Pixar’s first-ever original long-form animated series. As a middle school coed softball team prepares for their championship game, each 20-minute episode focuses on the view of a different character.
Marvel Disney Plus Day announcements
- Hawkeye: Following the blip, Clint Barton (also known as Hawkeye) collaborates with 22-year-old excellent archer Kate Bishop to expose a criminal conspiracy, airing November 24, 2021.
- Moon Knight: A vigilante with dissociative identity disorder is thrown into a mystical war of the gods in modern and ancient Egypt against the backdrop of today’s world. In 2022, the series will premiere.
- She-Hulk: In a new comedy series set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2022, Tatiana Maslany plays She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who focuses on superhuman legal cases.
- Ms. Marvel: In July 2022, Kamala Khan — a Pakistani American teenager from Jersey City — becomes the first Muslim hero in Marvel history, with powers like those she admired in heroes.
- Echo: Following her debut in Hawkeye, Alaqua Cox played the role of Maya Lopez/Echo.
- Ironheart: The superheroine who fights crime in New York City, Nia Leakes, is the glamorous CEO of Thorne Group Inc., a pharmaceutical company. She also happens to be Riri Williams, an ingenious inventor who develops the most technologically advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.
- Agatha: House of Harkness: Kathryn Hahn reprises her popular WandaVision character, this time as a single mother.
- Secret Invasion: Nick Fury and the Skrull Talos are back in this Avengers crossover miniseries, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn reprising his role as the Skrull Talos.
- The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: A festive special produced and directed by Guardians of the Galaxy franchise veteran James Gunn.
- X-Men ‘97: The new stories in this universe are set in the iconic 1990s animated series timeline.
- What If…? Season two: The multiversal animated series continues on Disney Plus, with more stories from The Watcher told.
- Spider-Man: Freshman Year: A Spider-Man animated series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows Peter Parker’s path to becoming Spider-Man, told in a style reminiscent of Spidey’s early comic book origins.
- I Am Groot: Original animated shorts explore Baby Groot’s formative years before becoming one of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
- Marvel Zombies: The Marvel Universe is reimagined as a new breed of hero fights an ever-expanding zombie epidemic in this animated series.
Lucasfilm Disney Plus Day announcements
- Willow: Warwick Davis reprises his role as Fili in the upcoming series Willow, which also stars Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha Patel, and Dempsey Bryk. The premiere will be exclusively on Disney Plus in 2022.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi: Ewan McGregor reprises his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2022.
- Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett: Boba Fett is the subject of this film, which tells the story of his journey from birth to adulthood. Boba Fett, a legendary bounty hunter of the Star Wars universe, is now available on Disney Plus.
National Geographic Disney Plus Day announcements
- Welcome to Earth: In this six-part original series, premiering December 8, 2021, Will Smith explores the world’s most spectacular locations.
- America The Beautiful: In 2022, a new six-part documentary series about some of the most beautiful locations in the United States will premiere on Disney Plus.

Star (International) Disney Plus Day announcements
- Rosaline: From the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, a comedic spin on William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. The film will premiere on Disney Plus Star in 2022.
- The Princess: In this new adventure series premiering in the summer of 2022, Joey King plays a young royal who is more at ease with a sword than a tiara and must defend her kingdom from mercenary conquerors.
- Prey: The most recent addition to the Predator series is set in the world of Comanche Indians 300 years ago and follows Naru as she fights to defend her people from an extraterrestrial predator. The film will premiere in summer 2022.
- No Exit: This suspense-thriller follows a young woman who is stranded by a blizzard and forced to find shelter at a highway rest area with a group of strangers. The movie premieres in 2022.
