In Google Play there’s an app called Video Live Wallpaper. It is free and allows you to crop the video and set it as wallpaper.
After installing, open it and click on ‘Choose Video’ to choose a video. Then you will see several options available to configure your video, but if you do not want to modify anything, the application will give you the option to ‘Set Live Wallpaper’, and that video will be set as wallpaper.
How to set a GIF as wallpaper on Android?
Search Google or websites like Giphy for an animated GIF that you like to use as wallpaper and save it. Next, you’ll need to download the GIF Live Wallpaper app from the Google Play Store.
Once you are inside the app, open the GIF you want to use as wallpaper, the app gives you the option to resize it, rotate it, make the GIF go faster or slower, loop it, etc.
Then, accept the changes and click on ‘Set GIF as Wallpaper‘, and choose whether you want it on the Home screen, Lock screen or both.

Download the IntoLive app from the official App Store and load the video you like from the ‘Wallpaper’ section. Obviously, you can select whether you want the whole video to be displayed or just a selected fragment.
Then click ‘Save the video as Live Photo’. To set it as wallpaper on your iPhone, go to ‘Settings’ and select as wallpaper the one you have saved in Live Photo and you will have it ready.
How to set a GIF as wallpaper on iOS?
Go to the Giphy app or website. First, you have to find a GIF that interests you. Then you can download it to your Camera Roll. Click on the three dots that appear next to all the sharing options that Giphy has. From here you have the ability to save it as a Live photo, but you will have two options: you must choose the Full-Screen option so the GIF will not be deformed.
Now you have the image in your Camera Roll, select it and open the option ‘use as screen background’ and a new window will open in front of you in which you have to manually set how the GIF will appear on the lock screen.
