Honor launched Magic and Magic 3 Pro, and we will tell you about the specs, price and release date of these new phones.
The Honor Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro come to complete Honor’s new commitment to the top of the range and mobile photography that we have already seen reflected in the Honor Magic 3 Pro+. Their little brothers, although in this case, the term small is purely testimonial, are practically identical, almost like a pair of twins with only one difference that, yes, make opting for one or the other is not an easy decision.
In both cases, however, we are talking about high-end smartphones that stand out for their commitment to the photographic module. However, this should not make us think that other important aspects have been neglected. On the contrary, if any of these phones had more “normal” cameras, it would still be a very interesting high-end option. But of course, it is precisely their commitment to photography that makes them stand out in a market as complicated as the high-end.

As you can see, the difference between the two phones lies in their main camera, because otherwise, we are talking about two similar phones. Now, as you can see, this difference is no small thing, as the camera of the Honor Magic 3 Pro plays in another league, becoming the most remarkable aspect of the mobile. In the absence of being able to test it, something that as a fan of photography we would very much like to do, the review of its specifications already invites you to think that the results it will offer will be more than remarkable.
Inside both of them, we will find a Snapdragon 888+ octa-core SoC, the current Qualcomm top of the range presented at the end of June and that will distinguish some of the main tops of the range of this second half of 2021 and the first months of 2022. Next to it, we will find 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. With these features, we can expect high performance from both the Honor Magic 3 and the Magic 3 Pro.
In terms of display, in both models, we find a 6.76-inch Flex OLED panel with a resolution of 2,772 x 1,344 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz, compatible with HDR10+. Honor has opted for a curved screen around the edges, something that some users will like, as it is aesthetically very attractive, but others will not, due to the problems experienced by some smartphones with this design. To accompany the screen, the Honor Magic 3 has stereo speakers with IMAX Enhanced technology.
In terms of connectivity, we will find everything you would expect in a top-of-range of 2021: 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data. And when it comes to charging, both models feature a 4,600mAh battery with quick charging function, both wired (66W) and wireless (50W).
The difference between Honor Magic 3 and Honor Magic 3 Pro is, as we mentioned at the beginning, the main camera. As you can see, the Pro model features the same elements as its smaller sibling, but it also adds a 64MP periscope telephoto lens, which is capable of offering a level of magnification, combining optical and digital zoom, that will reach a factor of 100x. In addition, the dTOF focusing system also offers an advantage, which will be particularly useful for this type of shooting.
Honor Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro price and release date
For the time being, both models will be available for the Chinese market, although it is to be expected that they will later make the international leap. Their retail prices are $1,055 for the Honor Magic 3 and $1,231 for the Pro model.
