Samsung’s new generation of compact foldable is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and here are its specs, price and release date.
In addition to the new Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung has also used its August Unpacked event to present the new generation of its “flip” folding mobile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
It is an update that introduces significant changes compared to the previous generation, both in terms of design, technical specifications, and functions. But best of all, it is an even cheaper phone than the original Galaxy Z Flip.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 features
As in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung has focused much of its efforts and resources on improving the resistance of its new foldable. In the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the brand has combined a stronger aluminum that surrounds its chassis and protects the hinge, to reach five years of life without damage to the phone, which is equivalent to about 200,000 folding processes.
Gorilla Glass Victus is also used to protect the back of the device, and for the first time, IPX8 certification is added to ensure water resistance.
In addition, a new generation of Ultra-Thin Glass technology is used to protect the device’s display. This, however, is still protected by a thin sheet of plastic material.
The screen in question has a diagonal of 6.7 inches and uses Dynamic AMOLED 2x technology, which refers to the refresh rate of 120Hz.
But it is not the only screen of the phone. On the outside, it has a small 1.9-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 512 pixels wide by 260 pixels high, which allows more information to be displayed than in the case of the previous version.
Concluding with the design section, it should be mentioned that the device is available in black, gold, and violet finishes.
As for the camera system, in this case, we have to settle for a total of three cameras: two on the outside, and one on the inside. The main system consists of two sensors of 12MP each. The second one has an ultra-wide-angle lens, and the main one is equipped with an optical image stabilizer.
The selfie camera has a resolution of 10MP and is therefore very similar to the one already found in the previous model, as well as in the rest of Samsung’s high-end phones launched in recent years.
No Wi-Fi 6, but with Snapdragon 888
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 arrives with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor inside. This is Qualcomm’s latest generation of flagship processors, with Kryo-680 cores and a maximum clock frequency of 2.84GHz.
As for the available configurations, you can choose between 128 or 256GB storage, in both cases without the possibility of expanding by microSD. Both versions have 8GB RAM and a 3,300mAh battery compatible with quick charging and wireless charging.
Android 11 is the operating system that gives life to the phone, customized, yes, by One UI 3.1. This model is expected to receive a minimum of three major operating system updates, as well as security updates for a minimum of four years.
Interestingly, Samsung has decided not to provide this model with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, despite having an SoC whose modem is perfectly compatible with this technology.
