Find out how to set auto reply text messages on iPhone and Android following this guide. Whether you’re driving, in a meeting, or just don’t feel like answering, both iOS and Android offer you the possibility to reject the call by automatically sending auto reply text messages.

You don’t need a third-party app to do this, as both operating systems give you the option to use this feature. The process is extremely simple as long as you know where the option is hidden. Let’s go!

In the case of an iPhone, you have to activate the “Do not disturb” mode first. Then, just go to ‘Settings’ and select “Do not disturb” once you are inside, at the bottom, you will see the option to set auto reply messages.

It is possible to choose which contacts will receive an automatic reply (Nobody, Recent, Favorites or All) and you can choose what the automatic reply message will say. There is a default one, but by clicking on it, you can edit the message.

If you do not want to activate the ‘Do not disturb’ mode because you are only going to reject a call. When you receive the call, you just have to click on the ‘Message’ option and several response options will be displayed. Choose whichever you like.

If you are using an Android device you just have to enter the “Phone” application, go to the “Calls” section and select “Settings” by clicking on the three dots icon.

At the bottom, you will find a section called ‘Others’ where the option ‘Reject calls with SMS appears. When you click on it, you will see some predefined ‘Quick responses’ that we can edit freely.
