Today we are going to review the benefits of using iCloud Plus. At the last WWDC, Apple announced its new service called iCloud Plus which will arrive with iOS 15. In reality, rather than being completely new, it is an extension of the existing one. Built on the foundations of iCloud, this version brings a number of additional features included in the subscription plan.
What are the benefits of using iCloud Plus?
Up until now, we have used iCloud for such common things as storing our photos, documents, and notes in the cloud.
Now, iCloud is renamed and there are three new features for those users who are subscribed to one of its plans. The first of these is called Private Relay, it is a browser-based encryption that allows users to browse with Safari more securely and privately.
At the same time, it uses two independent internet relays so no one can track our location, IP address, and network activity. This feature is still in beta, but initial results from Private Relay indicate that browsing is sometimes slower and sometimes faster. But they will surely fix it.
The second additional iCloud Plus feature is called Hide My Email. With this feature, we can create random email addresses to sign up for new sites, web services, or newsletters. When an email arrives at that address it will be automatically forwarded to your real address. And if you no longer wish to receive these emails, simply delete the random account from the settings to cut off the communication.
These two features are part of the most recent episode in the evolution of Apple’s privacy measures. The third feature offers expanded support for HomeKit-compatible surveillance cameras. There is now the possibility of having an unlimited number of them connected to HomeKit, although it will depend on our monthly iCloud+ plan. iCloud Plus pricing remains the same as before.
How much iCloud Plus cost?
iCloud+ is a subscription service that adds extra space and features to users. Previously the old plan looked like this:
