LinkedIn is a place where connections with people from different backgrounds often converge, adding professional networks, studies, business contacts, and employment opportunities.
TidyTag, an extension to sort LinkedIn contacts with tags
While each appearance of a profile is usually accompanied by job identification information, thanks to a Chrome extension, it is possible to add additional metadata as an additional guide for personal use.
TidyTag (or “tidy tags”, in some language) is a tool that allows you to sort LinkedIn contacts with custom tags, organizing them in a private database.
To start using this tool, you need to register on the TidyTag platform. Once the extension has been downloaded and activated from the Chrome Web Store, a form is displayed on the screen in which you only need to provide an email address, generate a password, and add a link to the LinkedIn profile with which you will use this tool.
Once this initial configuration is complete, the option to add tags is immediately enabled. These can be added either when viewing a contact on the home page or when visiting their profile directly. This works only with people’s profiles, including those who are not listed as contacts.
Apart from the visual contribution to the web version of the social network, an interesting point is that the profiles cataloged through this tag system can be reviewed as a database on the same site of the platform, with the possibility of filtering them according to the specified classifications.
If you use LinkedIn frequently from your computer, with TidyTag you can start to build an orderly agenda of your contacts as you browse the platform.
Another possible use is for job searching or professional networking for specific purposes. During a day of opportunity tracking, you can generate an orderly selection for later review.
Does It Make Sense, developers of this small application, ensure that the information they process is not used, transferred or sold, outside of approved practical cases.
By the nature of this tool, it can only be used on the computer, either through Chrome or another compatible browser with its extensions.
TidyTag is completely free to use and can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store.
