How to access the Wi-Fi router settings: IP address of each brand

Today we are going to explain how to access the Wi-Fi router settings and show you the IP addresses of the most popular brands. It is true that nowadays many modern models also have a mobile application that facilitates the task at least for basic configurations, but whenever we want to change some advanced settings we need to know the IP address.

How to access the Wi-Fi router settings?

Let’s say you are going to change the Wi-Fi password. To do this we usually have to go to the browser, from our computer. It is a simple and fast process, but we also need to know the IP address.

The problem is that there is no generic address for all models. Each brand usually uses a different one, although it is true that many of the main ones use the same default gateway, which is usually 192.168.1.1.

The default IP addresses for most popular brands’ routers

We will show a list of the main brands and their IP addresses. We will see that in most cases the generic address is repeated. We must take into account that in some brands there may be more than one option since it can vary according to a specific model we are using:

  • 3Com: 192.168.1.1
  • Airlink: 192.168.1.250 o 192.168.1.1
  • Airlive: 192.168.1.254
  • Apple: 10.0.1.1
  • Asus: 192.168.1.1
  • Aztech: 192.168.1.1
  • Belkin: 192.168.1.1
  • Cisco: 192.168.1.1
  • Dell: 192.168.1.1
  • D-Link: 192.168.1.1
  • Google: 192.168.86.0

  • Sitecom: 192.168.0.1
  • Synology: 192.168.1.1
  • Tenda: 192.168.0.1
  • TP-Link: 192.168.1.1
  • Ubiquiti: 192.168.1.1
  • ZTE: 192.168.0.1
  • Zyxel: 192.168.1.1

How to find out the default gateway of any router?

If you couldn’t find your router’s brand in the list, no worries because it is easy to find out the default gateway of any router.

In Windows, we have to go to Start, enter Command Prompt and run the ipconfig command. This will show us a lot of information related to our network and router.

We will see a section called Default Gateway. This is the IP address that we have to execute in the browser to be able to enter the router and configure it correctly. This information will appear regardless of which router we are using.

Also, we can always Google it. If you search for your router’s model and type default gateway next to it, there will be hundreds of websites that will give you the information.
