The auction scene for rare Pokémon products continues to yield purchases for ridiculous amounts and the most recent case involves a card that ended up selling for $250,000 USD. As you can see, possession of something like this could result in an unexpected but quite interesting income.
Auction site Goldin Auctions (via Kotaku) celebrated the bidding and sale of a rare card that, oddly enough, has no creature on it but could very well be one of the most interesting ones.
This Pokémon card has sold for nearly $250,000
We refer to the card with the original name “2017 P.M. SM Black Star #TPCi01 Tsunekazu Ishihara Signed Pokemon GX Promo Card”, which was printed and given only to the workers of The Pokémon Company in 2017 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of the company, hence it shows the face of the creative and executive along with some rather favorable statistics.
According to auction information, 31 bids were received for this rare card and the final sale price was $247,230 USD. Last March, another card, specifically Charizard also sold for $300,000 USD.
