A refreshed design with a smooth display and new colors
The glossy look so characteristic of the Galaxy A series so far disappears with this new generation, to give way to a more modern yet sober aesthetic, which stands out for the variety of colors and the use of straight lines.
The new Galaxy A52 and A52 5G are made entirely of plastic and feature a smooth matte finish on the back, somewhat reminiscent of the finish of the Galaxy S21.
Its rear only leaves room for the camera system, formed in both cases by the same four sensors, which we will talk about later.
On the front, surrounded by relatively small margins, we find one of the crown jewels of this series of phones: a large 6.5-inch diagonal screen, based on AMOLED technology and with Full HD resolution.
The Galaxy A52s are the first phones in the A series to feature a screen with a high refresh rate.
Compared to last year, the panel introduces a high refresh rate, a feature we see for the first time in Galaxy A series models.
In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the Galaxy A52 features a 90 Hertz refresh rate display, while the Galaxy A52 5G increases the rate to 120 Hertz for even greater smoothness. In both cases, we also have a maximum brightness that reaches 800 nits.
In addition to that, Samsung has also included IP67 certification that ensures water resistance up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes.
Other details that are not missing are the fingerprint reader, this time integrated directly into the screen of the devices; And the 3.5-millimeter headphone port, located on the lower edge of the phone.
Quad camera with optical stabilizer
The photography section has also been upgraded with the Galaxy A52 series, as we find a quad-camera system led by a 64MP camera resolution, f/1.8 aperture, and optical stabilizer.
This sensor is accompanied by a secondary camera with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. And of course, the duo of macro and depth sensors, 5MP each, are also present.
On the front, a single 32MP sensor will be in charge of capturing selfies and serving as a webcam for video calls. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that Samsung includes a special version of Google Duo, the video calling app, with effects and settings that will not be present in phones from other firms.
Qualcomm processor and a 5G model
The main difference between the two models that make up this series -beyond the screen- lies in the processor used and the connectivity of each of them.
The Galaxy A52 mounts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, a chip with eight cores, two of them capable of running at a maximum frequency of 2.3GHz. It is accompanied by 4, 6, or 8GB RAM and 128 or 256GB expandable storage.
For its part, the Galaxy A52 5G bets on the Snapdragon 750G chip, a chip whose main peculiarity is the fact of having an integrated 5G modem, which gives the device the ability to establish a connection with the new types of telephone networks. Also, the 4GB RAM configuration disappears and we have 6 or 8GB, as well as the same internal storage as its smaller brother, also expandable by microSD.
One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 is the operating system that gives life to both phones, ton good part of the novelties present in the Galaxy S21.
As for its battery, we again have 4,500mAh capacity and quick charging up to 25W of power. The charger is included in the box, although it is capable of offering a maximum of 15W power.
Another interesting feature of this Samsung mobile pair is the inclusion of a stereo speaker system with the Dolby Atmos system, which should offer a better sound experience than in past generations of the series.
