Samsung Galaxy S20 was the first smartphone with 16GB RAM and now ASUS is taking a step further because ROG Phone 5 will be the first smartphone with 18GB RAM. The Taiwanese company is adding a new gaming device to its catalog.

The company itself didn’t announce the first smartphone with 18GB RAM but SK Hynix did. It is a company specialized in semiconductors, and it manufactures the memory chip for the next ASUS ROG Phone 5.

In a press release issued by the company, the entry into mass production of the first 18 GB LPDDR5 DRAM RAM, up to 20% faster than previous technology, with a maximum speed of 6,400Mbps, is made official.

The firm itself indicates that the first batch is destined to be used in the ASUS ROG Phone 5, whose presentation will take place on March 10. It will therefore become the world’s first smartphone with 18GB RAM.
