Samsung has some of the most advanced monitors on the market and today the company presented Odyssey G9 2021, we are going to talk about its specs, price, and release date. The company offers monitors with features that other manufacturers can’t. Because the South Korean giant manufactures its own panels in the monitors.

Samsung Odyssey G9 2021 specs

This Samsung Odyssey G9 2021 features the same 49-inch size as the previous model. It has a curved design and 5120 x 1440 resolution. Thus, the monitor is equivalent to having two monitors with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution joined into a single curved monitor with a 1000R curvature.

It has a QLED panel with Quantum Matrix Technology. This technology is the same that Samsung has implemented in its Neo QLED TVs, which is nothing other than a panel with Mini LED and Quantum Dot. This means that we have many more dimming zones than before and that allows us to enjoy the more realistic HDR content.

It has a QLED panel with Quantum Matrix Technology.

This technology is able to show dark areas in black by turning off the backlight in those areas, which improves contrast. The maximum brightness is 2,000 nits, so it is expected to receive DisplayHDR 1400 certification from VESA.

The panel’s response time is 1 ms and it offers a 240Hz refresh rate. The resolution and refresh rate tells us that we are going to need a very powerful computer to be able to run a game at these figures. There is also support for AMD FreeSync Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync.

Samsung Odyssey G9 2021 price and release date

Samsung has not announced the price, but it is expected to be close to the current model at $1,699. We also do not know when it will be available on the market.
