Xiaomi has presented its new range of RedmiBook Pro laptops, models that stand out for having the latest hardware despite their low price.

Although the RedmiBooks are not officially available in some countries, those who are looking for them can find them, especially on import pages from China; And in many cases, it is worth it.

Xiaomi laptops stand out for one thing: Their price. They already surprised us last year with the new RedmiBook 16, and today the company has taken the opportunity to present its new “Pro” range.

New RedmiBook Pro specs

The new RedmiBook Pro range is composed of two models, 15-inch and 14-inch; They are very similar inside since in both it is possible to mount up to an Intel Core i7-1165G7, accompanied by a dedicated Nvidia MX 450 graphics.

Therefore, we can expect great performance from these laptops, even being able to play some undemanding titles. Even if we opt for the cheapest models, with an Intel Core i5-1135G7, these already have the Intel Xe integrated graphics which is a leap from the Intel HD we had to ‘suffer’ in its day.

All this is very striking, because the majority of cheap laptops have remained in the tenth generation Intel Core, and at most we usually find the MX 250 or MX 350.

In all models, we will find 16GB RAM DDR4 3200, plus 512GB SSD storage. In terms of connectivity, both already support WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1; It is also very striking that they have leaped Thunderbolt 4 in one of the two available USB-C connections, allowing them to connect to an external monitor with 4K resolution and also receive power. They also have two USB-A ports (one 3.2 and one 2.0), an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio output.

The battery in both cases is 56WHr, and we will be able to recharge it quickly thanks to the 65W adapter included in the box. For security, they have a fingerprint sensor compatible with Windows Hello.

Surprising displays

The two models also have in common the manufacturing method, with large aluminum parts created with CNC machines, just like the parts used in aviation. The finish looks good in the promotional images, although as usual, it is easy to see that Xiaomi has been ‘inspired’ by the design of Apple’s MacBooks.

The big difference is in the displays. The 15-inch model stands out with its resolution of 3200 x 2000 pixels to achieve a pixel density of 242ppi; Thanks to its thin borders, a screen ratio of 89.1% is achieved.

Like other manufacturers, the display is now 16:10 ratio to facilitate web and document use, covers 100% of the RGB color gamut, and has a 90Hz frequency.

As for the 14-inch model, the screen is also 16:10, but the resolution remains at 2560 x 1440 pixels; Otherwise, it has the same colors and thin edges.

The new RedmiBook Pro starts at about $727; The price can reach $975 for the top 15-inch model.
