After the accumulation of rumors that danced between the possible development of AirPods Pro Lite, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 3, it seems that finally, Apple would have been working exclusively on the arrival of the latter. And it is that everything points to the fact that the next model, already highlighted by a smaller size and price, opt to use the design and some features of its premium model.

In its latest leak, the 52audio website claims that the next AirPods will be called Apple AirPods 3, although they will finally sport an in-ear headphone design very similar to that of the AirPods Pro. This would rule out the other rumored hypothesis, which pointed to an in-ear headphone design more similar to that of its most direct competitors, such as Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro.

And is that although at first this design of “hanging cane” was the point of many criticisms and jokes, finally ended up becoming the most characteristic point of these headphones, being, in fact, the most imitated factor by other manufacturers.

Thus, this design would maintain the use of silicone plugs for the inner part of the ear, helping greatly to achieve better noise isolation and greater support, in addition to a slightly shorter rod. Although this will not take away to highlight the presence of a microphone and external speaker of large size in the same, which assures us the presence of a noise cancellation functionality for the new AirPods 3. Although according to rumors, it will not be the expected ANC, a Spatial Audio technology.

Reducing the overall design of the headphones, also the charging case will arrive under a smaller size, which with a noticeably smaller width, is expected to maintain the same battery capacity as the current AirPods Pro.

On the other hand, taking into account previous leaks that pointed to the AirPods Pro 2, it is expected that these headphones will equip a W2 wireless chip for better connectivity, adding at least a couple of hours to the autonomy of its predecessors, also offering some improvements in terms of active noise cancellation technology.

According to the Japanese website Mac Otakara, the company is expected to present these headphones during April, coinciding with the presentation of the new iPhone SE 3, after having officially discarded the rumored date of an event in mid-March. Although for the moment the release date of these headphones remains unknown, as other sources such as LeaksApplePro point to late availability, moving them to the fourth quarter of 2021.

However, rumors seem somewhat more concise when it comes to the price of the AirPods 3, already marking a huge downgrade compared to its predecessors, reducing by more than half its price to place it at a figure between $150 and $250.
