With a new leak, some new specs of Huawei P50 is known.
Unless the Chinese company has decided to change its plans, the new generation of the Huawei P series should arrive very soon. As of today, we know that this family would consist of at least two devices: The Huawei P50 and P50 Pro. But that’s not all we know about the company’s next flagship phones.
Thanks to the latest leaks and rumors that have emerged over the weeks, we have been able to learn more and more details of the new Huawei P50, which today we will review in more detail.
P50 Pro will have a curved screen
One of the first clues we received about the Huawei P50 series was related to its design. Through a first render, we were able to get a glimpse of the design of the Huawei P50 Pro, which stood out for featuring a screen with pronounced curves on its sides.
At this point, the inclusion of curves on the screen of Huawei’s new flagship device should come as no surprise. They were already present in the Huawei P40 Pro and Mate40 Pro, and as much as there are detractors of this type of format, the truth is that there is no reason to think that the new P50 Pro will not have a curved panel.
We also learned that the Pro model would have a 6.6-inch diagonal screen, and dimensions of about 15.9 centimeters high, and 7.3 centimeters wide.
Android, HarmonyOS, or both?
Despite the disappointment of learning that HarmonyOS is a version of Android in disguise, all rumors seem to indicate that there will be two different variants of the Huawei P50 Pro, one with Android, and one with HarmonyOS.
It is unknown, however, if the existence of two different versions will be a global strategy, or if it will be reduced to the Chinese market. Be that as it may, it remains to be seen what HarmonyOS brings for Android, because today the company’s intentions are not very clear, especially after learning that the supposed new Huawei operating system is neither new nor from Huawei.
An evolving camera system
The latest known clues about the new Huawei P50 series are related to its photographic section. In that sense, leaks suggest that the LEICA seal will again be present in the camera system of the P50. However, it is specified that Huawei would have worked on implementing even more functions and that the aesthetics of the photographic system would have been worked on to achieve a more elegant design.
A novelty in this regard would be the reduction in the number of sensors available on the front, as we would go from having two front cameras to a single one, located at the top center inside a small hole.
For the moment, this is all we think we know about the new Huawei P50 series. Considering that we are only a couple of months away from the supposed arrival date of the devices, the truth is that Huawei seems to be doing a good job at keeping its new devices under wraps. Either that or industry interest in Huawei’s phones has plummeted, just as the company’s mobile sales have in the past year.
