The Tesla Model S is presented in 2021 with the biggest redesign this model has undergone since its birth in 2012. The company highlights as one of its strengths Tesla Arcade, entertainment options.
New Tesla Model S 2021 boasts an integrated console more powerful than PS5
Many things have changed inside the Model S, Tesla has presented a new version of this classic of its catalog in which it bets on design and entertainment. One of the aspects that have wanted to bring to the forefront of technology is its gaming bet.
Tesla Arcade is the name with which the company has baptized its multimedia center for vehicles. With two screens for passengers in the front and those in the rear, this console grows in power up to 10 teraflops.
The integration of this “console” has made a splash in the gaming sector due to its comparison with next-generation consoles such as PS5, presented at the end of 2020. Sony’s console, which we were able to test at Computer Today for this in-depth analysis, also boasts 10 teraflops of power.
.@Tesla says the new series S Arcade will have 10 teraflops of gaming performance.

Gaming journalist Geoff Keighley compares the Model S 2021 to current gaming consoles. Xbox Series X has 12 teraflops above the power of PS5 and the new Tesla, and below is the Xbox Series S with 4 teraflops.
However, this comparison does not completely define the quality of all these consoles. Hobby Consolas explains it this way: “FLOP measures one thing… and in a system like a console or a PC there are other elements to take into accounts such as the frequency of the components, the SSD or the latency in the data transmission between CPU-RAM and GPU, as well as the computational units or the frequency of the GPU itself”.
Tesla’s multimedia center offers games such as Stardew Valley or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as shown in the images. But this is still not the most interesting thing, the system allows you to wirelessly connect controllers to enjoy games more comfortably. Tesla turns its Model S into a living room with movies, music, and video games.
The screens on which these games are played are two, next to the driving screen behind the sports steering wheel. Both entertainment displays feature 2,200 x 1,300-pixel resolution with “ultra-bright colors” and touch capabilities with state-of-the-art responsiveness. The center panel is 17 inches and the second is smaller at 8 inches. Also, note that the audio output will feature noise cancellation.
Under the hood, the Model S also receives some updates for the engine with Plaid a triple engine with 1,100 hp, 321 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 in less than two seconds. There will also be a plus version with Plaid + that goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds and has an 830 km range and 320 km/h top speed.
There is also an update that has been controversial in the steering wheel, as the lever to activate the turn signals are eliminated and that function is replaced by two capacitive buttons on the steering wheel itself.
Production of this new model will begin during the first quarter of 2021 and, according to Electreck, its launch price, when it goes on sale at the end of the year, will range from $79,990 to a base of $139,000. It all depends on the configuration chosen.
