IO Interactive announced today that owners of Hitman 1 and 2 on Steam will be able to transfer their progress to the Hitman 3 version for the Epic Games Store at no cost.
Those with Hitman 1 and 2 on Steam can transfer their progress to Hitman 3 at no cost at Epic Games Store
The controversy had been generated a few days ago when the studio announced that this was not possible and that players would have to buy back the first two installments of the series to import their progress. However, as a result of the people’s anger and the frustration of Hitman veterans, IO Interactive changed course.
Unfortunately, this new option will not be available on the day of the Hitman 3 launch, as they are working on finding an alternative. However, IO assured that PC gamers who already have the first two deliveries will be able to import their games at no additional cost.
Also, IO Interactive stated that the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass will be available free of charge to all Hitman 3 bookers or those who purchase the game within the first 10 days of launch.
Hitman 3 will arrive on PC on January 20th and will be exclusive for a limited time at the Epic Games store. If you’re eager to see more of the latest installment of the World of Assassination trilogy, it was recently revealed that Mendoza, Argentina, will be the penultimate location in the game.
