A new patent filed by Sony for PS5 seems to leave in the air the addition of a new function that could introduce a new interactive element in the game.
A new Sony patent could lead to a very useful function for users on PS5
Even before the launch of PS5, we could sense that Sony wanted a much more social platform in its new console, so it added features derived from it and the community. Although it seems that it will not stop there, as Sony Interactive Entertainment has filed a new patent for a function that would increase the social capabilities of the new console.
The function in question will allow PS5 players, your friends, and even content creators, to be able to leave text notes, or even audio notes, within certain spaces in the games. “The generation, association and display of tags in the game will be revealed, these tags introduce an additional dimension of community participation to multiplayer and single-player games”.
Through these labels, players will communicate through messages, images, and audios that others have generated in certain places that have some peculiarity. These tags within the game, and the diverse content generated by the user, will even allow searching the game about it.
The function, as you have read, will be for both single-player and multiplayer games, so the texts and audio notes can be used as “guides” and “tips”. This will help other players stuck in a certain point to overcome a difficult phase, with notes that for example say what to do or where to go.
Also, the developers themselves could also leave notes in the game for something in return, such as goods that can be obtained in the game. Although at the moment it is only a patent that has been filled in, it may end up in nothing, but we will be watching to see if it is officially announced.
