These videos show how close Microsoft Flight Simulator is to real life
The Youtube channel, Planes From Ground, recently shared a new video comparing a landing in Microsoft Flight Simulator with a real-life landing of an A320 at WBKK (Malaysia). Surprisingly, Microsoft’s simulator is closer to reality than we would have ever imagined.
This only lets us see the incredible work done by the studio behind Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the enormous technological advance that gives rise to creations like these. We also leave you with another video that is a little older, but that also allows us to appreciate the similarities.
However, perhaps MFS’s biggest problem is its lighting system. To be clear, the game looks incredibly good, however, the lack of Ray Tracing (all functions, not just reflections) makes the scenarios look a little unnatural. Of course, we should also think if it would be possible to move this game in ultra with RT activated at 60 FPS, but the idea is there.
For now, we know that Microsoft and Asobo are already working to add support for DirectX 12, which will address the main optimization problems the game has, and hopefully, Asobo will also consider adding Ray Tracing effects in the future.
Remember that recently the company announced the official support of Microsoft Flight Simulator with Virtual Reality, through its last update.
