ASUS ROG Strix 2021 features
The brand dominates the sales of gaming laptops and if you see the configuration of the new models you can understand why. They will be marketed in versions according to screen size. You’ll be able to choose between 15 or 17-inches. There will be two configurations, the first one will offer FHD resolution with a 300Hz refresh rate and the second one will offer 2K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate.
The company will update its line with the new NVIDIA Ampere graphics cards, with the possibility of choosing between the RTX 3080/70/60. Also, they bet on AMD Ryzen Mobile 5000 “H” Series processors on this model.
This is the first time that ASUS uses AMD CPUs in its ROG STRIX top-of-the-line and also the first time that it combines them with high-end NVIDIA graphics. Waiting for Intel to launch the “Tiger-Lake H”, this laptop will have one of the most advanced CPU+GPU combinations at the start of 2021.
There is little to say about NVIDIA’s dedicated graphics that you don’t already know. It’s the most powerful thing you can mount on a laptop. As for the Ryzen Mobile 5000 under ZEN 3 architecture, they also point out that they won’t be using the low voltage versions, but the high performance “H” series will be mounted.
We already saw the good results of the Ryzen 7 5800H. A model with 8 cores and 16 native processing threads, frequency up to 4.4GHz in turbo mode, and 16 MB cache. Also, R9 5900HX will be another configuration option.
ASUS ROG Strix 2021 will have 32GB RAM capacity, while the storage will be covered by SSDs up to 1TB capacity. We also expect the latest connectivity elements, an advanced cooling system, special keyboards, RGB lighting.
We will have the opportunity to talk about ASUS ROG Strix 2021 after its presentation at the CES in January.
