We have literally been hearing about the OnePlus smartwatch since 2014. The device has been talked about countless times, to the point that Carl Pei, its co-founder, and former CEO, shared some sketches of the device on his Twitter profile (tweet that has been removed, by the way).
Pete Lau has just said that the OnePlus Watch (as it is expected to be called) is real. The company is working on it and they claim that it will be announced early next year.

What OnePlus Watch will offer?
Beyond the clock schemes, nothing is known about the OnePlus Watch. The leaks do not agree on what operating system will be incorporated, but it seems Wear OS is the most probable one. Why? Among other things, OnePlus and Google are working together to improve Wear OS and its relation with the Android ecosystem.
In terms of performance and processor, one probable option is the new Snapdragon Wear 4100, Qualcomm’s latest processor for watches.
And as for the date, we officially know that it will be in early 2021, which is when the company usually presents its first smartphones. If everything goes as planned, the new smartphone of the company should be presented by April, so maybe we can see the new smartwatch during that presentation.
