Halo Infinite and Psychonauts 2 are the only first-party games from Microsoft included in the Xbox Wire Calendar for 2021.
The year 2021 will bring us great games for next-gen consoles, and especially Microsoft announced a good handful of exclusives for Xbox Series X|S and PCs for the next months.
This morning we learned about the launch window of Halo Infinite, the great workhorse of Xbox Series X|S, which will be released in the fall of 2021. Another example is The Medium, a Bloober Team horror game that will be released on January 28, 2021.
Xbox Wire has shared the official list of Microsoft first-party games for 2021, and we found quite a few absences. What’s more, only two Microsoft first-party games are included in the list: Halo Infinite and Psychonauts 2.
In that list, we can find many other titles, some third parties that will be exclusive for Xbox and PC, as well as multiplatform games that will also see the light in PS5, like Resident Evil 8 Village or Far Cry 6.
The strange thing is that there are exclusive Xbox games that set their launch for this 2021, as is the case of Hellblade 2 or the next Rare title, Everwild, although perhaps some surprise will be revealed at the gala Game Awards 2020, held on 10 December in the morning.
- Keanu Reeves, star of Cyberpunk 2077, will be a presenter at The Game Awards
- Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season 1 will show its first gameplay trailer at The Game Awards
In the case of the new Fable, Forza Motorsport 8, State of Decay 3, or Avowed (the new Obsidian), it was quite clear that they weren’t going to come out the next year 2021, although perhaps in the next few days their launch windows will be known.
Will Microsoft announce the date for 2021 of any of its first-party games at the Game Awards? We’ll know in the next few hours because the Xbox Series X|S has become the best launch of a Microsoft console in history, so the hype is eating us up.
