While we wait to test the ZTE Axon 20 5G, the first mobile with a camera under the screen, ZTE is completing its showcase for the end of the year. It does so with conventional phones, outside the Axon line that usually also houses the riskiest ones, with a new mid-range with 5G: the ZTE Blade 20 Pro.
This is a slightly more complete version than the ZTE Blade 20 5G with the Snapdragon 765G and scaling a little more in the rest of the components. There are also changes in the design highlighting the curved screen, something that is usually seen more in high-end.
A curved screen and a conventional notch
We see that the front end is much clearer than in the ZTE Blade 20. We do not have the exact figure for the use of the front end by the screen, but the manufacturer speaks of more than 90%, which is not bad at all. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has 89.9%, to say an example also with curve on the screen.
That’s why in the front part we already see differences even if the notch remains in the form of a drop. In the back part, the four cameras are placed in the form of a die, not with an elongated module as in the Blade 20. Seeing what looks like a matte finish similar to the OPPO Reno4 5G and that there is no fingerprint reader here.
The fingerprint reader is on the screen, which is a 6.47 inch AMOLED with FullHD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels). The ratio is 19.5:9 and has a maximum brightness of 600 nits.
Thinness and connectivity to the latest
Speaking of the internal components, as we have anticipated the processor of this mobile is the Snapdragon 765G from Qualcomm. There is a unique version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, although we can expand the storage to 2TB with a microSD card.
There is a 4,000mAh battery, perhaps because it is a thin mobile (7.9 millimeters). A value that now does not stand out so much with batteries of 5,000mAh or more increasingly abundant, but that is not at all decisive. It also has Quick Charge 4+ support.
As its name makes clear, the new ZTE Blade 20 Pro supports 5G, in addition to having NFC and BlueTooth 5.1. To improve the audio, it has DTS:X Ultra 3D sound, although it is not clear if it offers stereo sound.
Speaking of cameras, there are four that we see in that rear module, see the following structure:
- Main camera: 64-megapixel sensor.
- Wide-angle camera: 8-megapixel sensor with 120º field of view lens.
- Macro camera: 2-megapixel sensor.
- Depth sensor: 2 megapixels.
- Front camera: 20-megapixel sensor.
It is a very standard combination within the medium range, completing four cameras with sensors and lenses perhaps more anecdotal and economical. In the video, we see that the main camera can record up to 4K at 60fps.

At the moment we do not have data on the price or official availability of the ZTE Blade 20 Pro, so we will be watching this announcement. We will also have to wait to know which markets this cell phone, presented in China, will reach.
