The MediaTek MT6893 @ 6nm is seen on Geekbench competing with the Snapdragon 865.
The benchmarking software Geekbench has shown the MediaTek MT6893, a new generation mid-range SoC manufactured by TSMC using a 6nm manufacturing process. As revealed, this SoC offers an octa-core configuration that is divided into 1x Cortex-A78 @ 3.00GHz + 3x Cortex-A78 @ 2.60 GHz + 4x Cortex-A55 @ 2.00GHz and Mali-G77 MC9 (9 cores) graphics.
All these cores and frequencies are divided into a single-core performance of 886 points and a multi-core performance of 2948 points. For reference, MediaTek’s current top-of-the-line SoC, the Dimensity 1000+, delivers 765/2874 points on the Redmi K30 Ultra, while the Snapdragon 865 on the OnePlus 8 scores 886/3104 points.
According to this leak, this new SoC range for a new generation of devices is more powerful than MediaTek’s current top-of-the-range SoC. So it will be interesting to see where the successor to the Dimensity 1000+ will stand in terms of performance. We have to wait for AnTuTu to have a better idea of the overall performance, since with it, the graphics performance and the memory controller type comes in to the performance.

The system will likely stay in the LPDDR4X RAM to save costs leaving the LPDDR5 for the new flagship SoC, so we would be looking at the successor of the Dimensity 800U (2x Cortex-A76 @ 2.40GHz + 6x Cortex-A55 @ 2.00GHz + GPU Mali-G57).
