How to redirect emails with the Mail app in macOS Big Sur? The macOS Big Sur allows you to redirect emails you have received by mistake without forwarding them.

macOS Big Sur is now available to everyone, even though the system focuses on a conceptual change in design and support for the new Mac with Apple’s M1 chip, it also includes some new features that are really useful.

One of the apps that have changed more in macOS Big Sur is Mail, which now has a new design and new customization options. But it has also received tremendously useful functionality for those who use the default mail application on Mac to manage their email.

How to redirect emails with the Mail app in macOS Big Sur?

This is the redirect option, a functionality that allows you to send an email received by mistake to the original recipient without having to resend the email itself. The functionality is somewhat hidden in the menus and the taskbar, but to use it just select the message in question, and in the menu bar, go to Messages>Forward.

With this, Mail allows the original recipient to receive the content of the message without us having to resend the message itself, and most importantly, all the information the recipient receives will be the original, so when he or she receives the email, he or she will see the email address of the original sender and all replies will also go to the original sender, not to our account.

How to redirect emails with the Mail app in macOS Big Sur?

Please note that any e-mails that we redirect will appear in our Sent folder and the e-mail’s reply address will always be the original sender’s. In addition, all messages redirected with this function will be labeled in our folder, so it will be easy to identify them when cleaning up mails that are not addressed to us.

This is a particularly useful function that Apple has barely advertised when presenting macOS Big Sur, but I’m sure it will be very functional. This way you’ve learned how to redirect emails with the Mail app in macOS Big Sur.
