Apple launched RC updates for watchOS 7.1 and tvOS 14.1. This nomenclature replaces the usual Golden Master (GM) which described the final betas of the operating systems and that in most cases shared code with the official version that was released to the public. The RC versions of Apple Watch and Apple TV arrived two days later than those of iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2.

Apple launched RC updates for watchOS 7.1. The main new features of watchOS 7.2 are focused on performance improvements that many users have been demanding since the launch of watchOS 7 for the whole public. This is especially noteworthy in the Apple Watch Series 3, which has suffered significant performance problems causing unexpected restarts and a much lower autonomy than with previous software versions. Although the latest updates have already resolved a good part of these problems, it is hoped that this 7.2 will put an end to any possible problems once and for all.

Another problem that will be solved is the one that prevented unlocking a Mac with the Apple Watch. On the other hand, functions will be available in more countries where they were not previously available. An example of this is the notifications when the volume of the headphones is very high or the possibility of performing ECG. The latter will arrive in South Korea and Russia for the Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5 and Series 6.

No news to report on tvOS 14.2

When Apple presented tvOS 14 at the WWDC 2020 it was focused especially on highlighting the improvement with the HomeKit accessories and even announcing the trailer of a long-awaited Apple TV+ series. However, they didn’t talk much about software innovations as such because they didn’t really get many. That is why this tvOS 14.2 does not really incorporate interesting new features beyond the classic bug fixes.

They could arrive this very week

Apple launched RC updates for watchOS 7.1. Along with the iPhone and iPad software, these new versions of operating systems could reach the public this week. It is not known exactly when this will happen, but we understand that all releases will be at the same time. Considering that this Friday the reservations of iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will start, it is understandable that there won’t be any delays for the final version. It should be noted that these two devices will already have iOS 14.2 as standard. In any case, we recommend you to keep an eye on this website, as we will inform you of the launch when the time comes.
