How to send voice messages using Walkie-Talkie on Apple Watch? Walkie-Talkie allows us to send voice messages very easily between the two Apple Watches. The function is available on all Apple Watches from Series 1 that is updated to watchOS 5.

How to add and manage our contacts?

Walkie-Talkie works with invitations, we can invite people using this feature. Adding a new contact is very simple, we will do it this way:

  1. We open the Walkie-Talkie app in our Apple Watch.
  2. Click on “Add friends +”.
  3. Select the contact you are interested in.
  4. When you do this, the contact will receive an invitation. If he or she accepts it, the card will turn to yellow and we will be able to communicate. If we want to remove a contact we simply slide to the leftover their name and press the red cross.

How to send and receive messages?

Sending messages via Walkie-Talkie is very simple, we will do it following these steps:

  1. Open the Walkie-Talkie app in our Apple Watch.
  2. Click on the contact you want to talk to.
  3. Press and hold the yellow button in the center of the screen while you talk.
  4. We can talk whenever we press the button and without time limitation. The other person will hear us, meaning that our message is played as we speak. Sometimes the message “connecting” appears after pressing the button, in that case, let’s wait a few seconds for Walkie-Talkie to connect. During the playback of a message, we can use the Digital Crown to turn the volume up and down at will.

How to activate or deactivate Walkie-Talkie?

Walkie-Talkie messages are played directly on our clock whenever we are available. When we are not, we simply should deactivate it.

  1. We open the Walkie-Talkie app in our Apple Watch.
  2. At the top, we activate or deactivate the Walkie-Talkie.
  3. Alternatively, you can also activate or deactivate the Walkie-Talkie from the Control Center by touching the corresponding button. As long as the button shows a yellow button we are available.
